On Founder, Mia DePrince

Mia DePrince, born and orphaned in Sierra Leone, fell in love with the piano as soon as she stepped into the home of her American family.  She has been studying piano since she was five years old, and plays jazz as well as classical piano.  Mia has earned her Master Certificate in Singing/Songwriting from the Berklee College of Music, where she is currently studying for her Professional Certificate in Piano/Keyboard, and her Bachelor of Professional Studies through the college’s online program.  Mia also plays the oboe, English horn, alto sax and guitar.  She was the first oboist with the Green Mountain Youth Symphony, and sang with the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association’s Concert Chorale and Chorus.  She studied dance at the Rock School for Dance Education, the New England Ballet Conservatory and Steps on Broadway.  She studied voice and musical theatre at the Bill Reed Voice Studio in Burlington, Vermont and at the Circle in the Square in NYC. Mia is also a Motivational Speaker who travels the country and world.  Mia currently lives in Fayetteville, Georgia where she is the co-owner of Sweet Mocha Music LLC, an independent music publishing company, and gives piano and voice lessons, with a focus in working with Special Eds children.
